En las vastas tierras del estado de Oaxaca, México, se encuentra la comunidad indígena de Puente Madera, en el municipio de San Blas Atempa. Esta comunidad, compuesta principalmente por miembros del pueblo indígena binnizá, ha estado luchando valientemente por la defensa de sus Derechos Humanos, su tierra, su cultura ancestral, y el medio ambiente que habitan.
Puente Madera es una comunidad rica en tradiciones y sabiduría Indígena, donde la conexión con la tierra y la naturaleza es fundamental para su identidad y sustento. Sin embargo, en los últimos años, han enfrentado una serie de desafíos que amenazan sus formas de vida y su existencia misma.
Una de las mayores amenazas que enfrenta Puente Madera es la incursión de empresas extractivas y proyectos de desarrollo que buscan explotar los recursos naturales de la región a expensas de las comunidades locales.
Estas empresas, con el respaldo de intereses económicos poderosos, han buscado apropiarse de las tierras comunales de Puente Madera para la construcción de infraestructuras destructivas.
La llegada de estas empresas ha desencadenado conflictos y tensiones en la comunidad, dividiendo a las familias y generando un clima de intimidación y violencia. Diversos miembros de la comunidad se encuentran amenazados debido a su labor de defensa, lo cuál pone en riesgo su integridad y su libertad. Sin embargo, la comunidad de Puente Madera se ha mantenido firme en su resistencia, defendiendo con valentía su territorio y rechazando cualquier intento de despojo y explotación.
La lucha de Puente Madera va más allá de la defensa de su tierra; es una lucha por la justicia, la dignidad y el respeto a los derechos de los pueblos indígenas. Es una lucha por el derecho a vivir en armonía con la naturaleza, preservando las tradiciones y conocimientos ancestrales que han sido transmitidos de generación en generación.
Sin embargo, la comunidad de Puente Madera enfrenta numerosos desafíos en su lucha por la justicia y la dignidad. La falta de recursos y apoyo externo limita su capacidad para resistir los embates de las empresas y sostener los procesos para defender sus derechos de manera efectiva. Es por eso que necesitan nuestra solidaridad y apoyo.
A través de esta campaña de crowdfunding, tenemos la oportunidad de brindar nuestro apoyo a la comunidad indígena binnizá de Puente Madera. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán a fortalecer su capacidad organizativa, proporcionar asistencia legal y financiera para enfrentar los litigios contra las empresas, fortalecer estrategias de seguridad y apoyar proyectos comunitarios que promuevan la autonomía y el desarrollo sostenible.

Let’s support the Indigenous Community of Puente Madera, San Blas Atempa, Oaxaca: A Dignified Fight for Justice and Dignity
In the vast lands of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, lives the Indigenous community of Puente Madera, in the municipality of San Blas Atempa. This community, composed mainly of members of the indigenous Zapotec people, has been fighting bravely to defend their Human Rights, their land, their ancestral culture, and the environment they inhabit.
Puente Madera is a community rich in indigenous traditions and wisdom, where the connection with the land and nature is fundamental to their identity and livelihood. However, in recent years, they have faced a series of challenges that threaten their ways of life and their very existence.
One of the greatest threats faced in Puente Madera is the incursion of extractive companies and development projects that seek to exploit the region’s natural resources at the expense of local communities. These companies, with the backing of powerful economic interests, have sought to appropriate the communal lands of Puente Madera for the construction of destructive infrastructure.
The arrival of these companies has triggered conflicts and tensions in the community, dividing families and generating a climate of intimidation and violence. Various members of the community are threatened due to their defense work, which puts their integrity and freedom at risk. However, the community of Puente Madera has remained firm in its resistance, bravely defending its territory and rejecting any attempt at dispossession and exploitation.
Puente Madera’s fight goes beyond the defense of its land; It is a fight for justice, dignity and respect for the rights of indigenous peoples. It is a fight for the right to live in harmony with nature, preserving the traditions and ancestral knowledge that have been transmitted from generation to generation.
However, the Puente Madera community faces numerous challenges in its fight for justice and dignity. The lack of resources and external support limits their ability to resist the attacks of companies and sustain processes to defend their rights effectively. That is why they need our solidarity and support.
Through this crowdfunding campaign, we have the opportunity to provide our support to the indigenous community of Puente Madera. The funds raised will be used to strengthen their organizational capacity, provide legal and financial assistance to face litigations against companies, strengthen security strategies and support community projects that promote autonomy and sustainable development.
